Victoria and Evan!

Today is a very special day for me. My twenty year wedding anniversary! I type this blog post in wonder of how that many years have passed when I'm only 28 (ha ha!). The one thing that I regret about my own wedding is not having better wedding photos. I had a friend who was a photographer and she said she'd do it as a gift. I am grateful to the photos she did take but back in the olden days I think it was expected that you mainly had a photographer for the formal group photos. She didn't take photos of much else. In fact, the photographer only took 75 photos TOTAL. I took more than 75 photos in the first hour of Victoria and Evan's wedding -- more than my photographer took all day!

Anyway, back to Victoria and Evan's wedding. It was a gorgeous affair with so many carefully crafted thoughtful details. I really have no idea how they pulled it all off as they also bought a house and Victoria just graduated with a master's degree. I'm feeling like quite the under achiever just typing this! Their wedding was beautiful and touching. I love seeing two friends come together for life. Many blessings!

Special thanks to my super human/ super star second shooter Fran Doneigo who captured beautiful images as well as kept great company. Fran even traveled to Paris the next morning! (Another over achiever!) I couldn't have done it without Fran.

The "first look." Evan was so moved that it was truly the most touching "first look" I'd had the honor to witness!

Gig Harbor wedding

Happiness is finding a blog post I thought disappeared into the ether buried in the draft section of my blog. Yay! Here are some photos of a gorgeous wedding Fran Doniego and I shot back in September for Alexis and Jason. Looking back at these photos it is hard to tell that it was one of the stormiest days of the year! Luckily that did not stop anyone from enjoying this beautiful wedding.

Holly and Erin, Hawaii Wedding

I just want to gush about this wedding. Holly and Erin had a rough year and a beautiful Hawaiian wedding was just what they needed. Holly has been a dear friend since I first met her my freshman year in college and I feel blessed to have been able to fly to Hawaii to be there and capture the love story unfolding. A big thanks goes out to Fran Doniego, my second shooter (who had the idea to climb up on the roof of the venue for ceremony shots) and who also was cool enough to drink coffee on the beach with me the following morning in our pajamas! What a team we make!

For wedding guests, the full gallery is on its way!

P.S. I also designed the wedding invitation (first photo, in the sand); the favors; table numbers and placeholders).

San Diego Destination Wedding

A wedding for a photographer doesn't get more special than this: my sister in law (and dear friend)'s wedding to the most amazing gentleman! Now here's the twist: I was the maid of honor AND the photographer! Tricky indeed! I was really lucky to have met another photographer (and friend) in San Diego who helped me capture the moments that would have been tricky while I was a part of the wedding party. Not only that, it was reassuring to have someone in-the-know help a newbie wedding photographer out. I was nervous! Thanks a million Wendy Gibson!

We just returned from San Diego last night and I still have many, many more images to cull, crop and edit but here are a few of just the bride and groom on the beautiful San Diego beach I wanted to post. I'd love to spend the rest of the day going through the photos of the beautiful bride and groom in paradise but my car sits in the driveway with a flat tire and freelance projects await. More photos to come!

UPDATE: How did I forget to post this one? I love the cute surfer dude who walked into my frame. Pure San Diego!
